Every holiday cookie plate needs these festive holly treats. They are simple to make and so yummy – but not too many, kids. If your tongue starts to look green, it is said you may be turning into The Grinch!

Ingredients for Holiday Holly Treats

  • 1/2 C. butter
  • 30 – 35 large marshmallows
  • 2 t. green food coloring
  • 2 t. vanilla
  • 5 C. cornflakes
  • red hot candies

 Instructions

STEP 1
Spread a sheet of parchment paper about 2 feet long on a countertop where you can drop your treats once your mixture is made. Melt butter over medium-low heat, add marshmallows and melt, stirring constantly.

STEP 2
When the mixture is completely smooth, add vanilla and food coloring and mix well.

STEP 3
Add cornflakes and mix well. From this point you need to work quickly as the mixture gets stickier and stickier as it cools.

STEP 4
Using two spoons, drop treats onto parchment paper. They should be about 1.5″ – 2″.

STEP 5
Decorate with red hots. (This is a great job for little ones to do alongside the “dropper.” The faster you get your red hots on your treats, the better they will stick.) Makes about 30 treats.
